The first partner meeting in Helsinki, April 19th

The first big meeting within the project was held in Helsinki on April, 19th. During the meeting representatives of partner organizations discussed the details of project realization. The event was visited by the representatives of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Karelia, Northern (Arctic) Federal University, St. Petersburg International Business Association (SPIBA), St. Petersburg Institute for Cultural Programs, Norwegian-Russian Chamber of Commerce, Provincial government of Västerbotten (Sweden), "Innovation Center Iceland", Aalto University (Finland).  

Round table ‘Creative industries: the sector of forward-looking development of culture and economics’.

Experts, authorities and those who are engaged in creative industries unanimously expressed gratitude to the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation for drawing attention on the federal level to the question of organizational and legislative support of creative industries development and shedding light on one of the most fruitful development areas in the world.

The first meeting of the Karelian partners

On the 26th of February the first meeting of the Karelian partners was conducted. The main targets of the meeting were to present the project, to discuss  timetable of the main events and main work direction. The representatives of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Karelia, the Ministry of Economic Development of Culture of the Republic of Karelia, The Institute of Economics of the Karelian Research Centre of RAS, The State Committee of the Republic of Karelia for Interaction with Local Self-Government Bodies, local mass-media, the head of the Swedish-Karelian Business and Information Centre and business ombudsman of the Republic of Karelia were at the meeting.

Start of the project Joining creativity

Since February, 2016 the Karelian Resource Centre of non-government organizations starts an international project “Joining creativity”, financed by the Nordic Council of Ministers. The main goal of the project is to enhance economic cooperation and trade between the Nordic countries and North-West Russia and to contribute to the successful internalization of creative business in the Baltic Sea region. The project will last until April 2017. The following actions will be undertaken during this time: analyze of creative business possibilities in North-West of Russia, identification of the main problem and its solutions, detection of news forms of cooperation among partners, distribution of information about business opportunities. These activities will help to establish sustainable cooperation network among partners, to exchange experience and opinions, to share the best activities.
